Abstract

Powder metallurgy (PM) has several technological applications in the automotive and aerospace industries, making it important for modern manufacturing. PM is needed in manufacturing for high productivity, geometric precision, surface quality, and material efficiency. Due to their wear and corrosion resistance and high strength, austenitic steels like SS316L are used in the aerospace, medical, automotive, and marine industries to make complex and custom parts. In this study, the microstructure and tribological characterization of PM-heat-treated SS316L+7Si were examined.
