Digitalization of Education, Flexibility and New Learning Culture in the New World System

Abstract

It is important to understand digitalization processes in education, today's educational environments and the new learning culture. The education sector, where many transformations are currently taking place, is becoming an area where more insecure, uncertain and precarious working styles become widespread. Although the history of online education in the world dates back much further, many people have had experience with distance digital or online education and learning, especially after the pandemic period. People's needs, such as private lessons, are met with lessons and courses offered by many education companies. In addition to being an education sector, corporate online private lesson platforms also affect the ecology of education. Online private lesson platforms, which emerge as a new way of working, have brought new realities and rules. In this text, what online education platforms offer to people's lives as alternative education channels is discussed in general terms. Lifelong education is directly related to digitalization processes. In addition to the individuals' effort and obligation to improve themselves, it becomes visible in the form of consuming knowledge throughout life, participating in partial trainings, and participating in small workshops. One of the main points discussed is the presentation of education in parts and the reflections of this situation on education. At this point, we encounter a new learning culture created by digital education platforms as an extension of lifelong education. In this process, the flexibility in educator employment and its reflections on education have also been brought up for discussion. As a result, digitalization processes are tried to be discussed from a historical perspective and their advantages and disadvantages are tried to be revealed.
