Abstract

In this study, the focus is on the vehicle routing problem, which involves designing optimal routes for product distribution to meet customer demands. The objective was to identify the shortest route in vehicle routing using a genetic algorithm. The ability of genetic algorithms to effectively solve largescale problems and rapidly produce solutions close to the optimum was leveraged. This system can be employed in public transportation vehicles, distribution areas, courier companies, or while traveling. It offers significant time and fuel savings, while reducing human labor and costs to minimal levels. The efficacy of this vehicle routing system was tested using coordinate information from various locations in the Yahşihan district of Kırıkkale province. Our system has been adapted for companies involved in cargo distribution, offering a solution that saves both time and costs.
